My name is Tex Pasley. I am a programmer, once and future lawyer, husband, and father who lives in the West Ridge neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois.

This is my personal website. At it, you can find a blog I write about topics that interest me. Professionally, I work in legal technology and AI, and posts on that topic are cross-posted to a separate Substack I maintain, called make law. More broadly, I am interested in the good life and what it means to be a moral human in the United States in the mid-21st century. While I do not have great advice (yet), I think the answer probably requires us to acknowledge that we live inside a web of complex systems that we are both responsible for, yet cannot fully control. Accepting that premise, my question then becomes: How should we be a good citizen of the complex system(s) we inhabit?

I also plan to use this website to host personal projects, loosely related to themes in my blog.
